Gluten Free Dairy Free Paleo Keto
My daughter Marissa and my hubby are lovers of barbecue sauce. I formulated this recipe years ago, before healthy sauces were something you could just purchase.
It's more tangy than sweet, but you can adjust the sugar to your style.
Using quality organic ingredients is always your best choice for rich flavor.
Makes approx. 2 cups
Prep 10 minutes
Cook time 10 minutes
1 cup organic ketchup*
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
5 tablespoons coconut sugar*
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoon coconut aminos
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon pink salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Juice from half a lemon
Put all ingredients in a small saucepan. Whisk together and warm over low heat. Bring to a low boil and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve as desired.
*If Keto use sugar free ketchup and golden monk fruit as replacement
If you do not have coconut aminos you can sub in Worcestershire sauce.
